Songs of Ascent -- Pilgrimage Through the Psalms
Welcome to the trail. This 30-week “chronological” study serves not merely as an academic exploration, but as a spiritual pilgrimage through the ancient history of Israel. Together, we will walk the path of God’s people through the raw yet surrendered soundtrack of their national life—moving from Moses’ cries in the barren wilderness, to David’s royal triumphs and broken failures, into the heavy grief of Babylonian exile, and finally returning home to a rebuilt temple. By diving into the psalms in the historical moments they were birthed, you will find a holy space to navigate your own spiritual journey with honesty, vulnerability, and surrender before the Lord. Whether you are walking through a season of triumphant joy, navigating a dark night of the soul, or simply putting one foot in front of the other in the ordinary days of life, these ancient songs will give you the vocabulary to safely abide in God's constant presence as you journey through the world.
